My experiences in Pribram

Recently my school has partecipated to the Erasmus project and I had the opportunity to travel to Czech Republic. I was very excited but at the same time very worried because it was the first time I took part in a school project abroad and I didn’t know what it would’ve been like. I would have been in an unknown Country that I had never visited before and in addition with strangers. The first impact was negative. You know, I’m a very anxious person and I started to panic because I was alone and I didn’t know the language, so I had to speak in English. Furthermore it was very cold because we left Rome in October. I found myself surrounded by nature instead of the buildings of my city. I had some difficulties at the beginning to fit in, but then I overcame them. I stayed in Pribram for six days and I was the guest of a Czech boy. It wasn’t easy to loosen up, because both of us were shy and didn’t know what to do, but when we started speaking and we couldn’t stop anymore! Everyday we went to school and the first day I was surprised that I managed to make friends with other guys from different Countries. I learnt about new cultures and traditions and I was pleased to tell them about Italy. The activities we took part in, especially the one in the job counseling office in Pilsen, helped me to loosen up and get along with lots of people. In that activity we were helped to discover our abilities and skills and we learnt how to work in a team. We began to think concretely about our future lives and what goals we want to achieve or what skills we want to improve. Obviously we also learned a lot during our free time, because we spent it with Czech guys. I had to get used to their lifestyle, and it helped me to improve my adaptation skill, but it wasn’t difficult. Czech people are very kind and they were always willing to help their guests. I really enjoyed this experience: I had the opportunity to improve my English, learn how to adapt to different conditions and how to loosen up with people. Furthermore I had the opportunity to visit a Country that is different from mine. I really enjoyed the view of the sunrise from the window of my room and one of the million stars in the night sky (Rome is a city full of street lamps and it’s difficult to see them). Then the last day we visited Prague, an amazing city that will be in my heart forever. The view from the Karluv most Bridge was absolutely breathtaking! When we had to greet everyone, I started crying with emotion, because I was sad to leave them all (and I’m gonna miss them so much) but at the same time pleased and happy for the amazing trip I had the opportunity to do. When I came back I was tired but at the same time pleased because everything worked out for the best. At the end I can say that I left with a full suitcase and I came back with my mind filled with memories.

Dream map

I chose some these pictures because somehow they represent me:
~ I chose the picture with the book because as I’ve already said, I like reading, just because a book can take you to another world where you can escape from reality and you can immerse yourself in new exciting stories.
~I think music is very important for life because it can change your humor or help you to “live the moment”. In fact people usually listen to different kind of music based on the way they feel. I listen a lot of music everyday, especially pop. I can’t imagine a world without such an important thing!
~this one is my favourite one because it has two meanings. I use to spend my holiday at seaside and I’ve always loved it.
The ocean  has always given me a sense of peace and relax, but don’t forget that it has a big power.  In fact it is calm in the appearance but it has lots of mysterious aspects, just like me.
~there’s a picture of a small rabbit. It represent me because they are shy animals and also because I love every animal species, especially little ones.

my introduction

Hi everyone,
I am Carola Granaroli, I am 16 years old and I am from Rome. I attend high school and I study languages. I made this choice because I think that nowadays languages are necessary  to find a good job. I study English, Spanish and then I decided German because there are few people that actually learn it. I think I'll go to university after school, but I'm very uncertain on which one to choose and I can't make up my mind! I'm directed towards the journalism because I like writing and discover what is happening all around the world, but I'm certain that I will change idea, even though I should begin to think about my future and have a certain decision in almost two years.

Well... what about me? I have to say that I'm a very shy person and I don't like talking in public or with people that I don't know. In fact I don't make new friends very easily. This is due to the fact that I like being alone.
I'm not a very athletic person but I practise volleyball three times a week and this sport helped me to be more confident because I have to interact with my teammates.
By the way, in my free time I like reading (my room's shelves are full of books!), relaxing (because during my  day I'm very busy) and hanging around with my close friends.
I can work well under pressure but I don’t like working in a team because I prefer taking my responsibilities.
